Obituary for William L. Rogers
TSgt William L. Rogers, age 38, George Air Force Base, CA, died accidently of a gunshot wound suffered on a hunting trip on July 28, 1979.
Funeral services have been set for 2:30 P.M., Wednesday at the Altus Air Force Base Chapel, officiated by Chaplain (LtCol) Benard Utley. Burial, with full military honors, will be in Altus City Cemetery, under the direction of Lowell Funeral Home.
Born April 9th, 1941 at Jennings, OK, he was married in Denver, CO on October 25, 1962 to Susanne Allen who survives him of the home in Victorville, CA. He entered the USAF in January 1960 and was to retire upon completion of his retirement period and relocate back to Altus. He was formerly assigned at Altus AFB, 11th Air Refueling Squadron, Avionics Section.
Survivors, in addition to his wife include: one son, Darrell Rogers and one daughter, Carol Ann Rogers, both of the home; his parents, Joseph and Opal Rogers of Tulsa, OK; two brothers, Joseph W. Rogers, USN Retired, of San Diego, CA and Johnnie M. Rogers, U.S. Navy, Beeville, Texas; two sisters, Elizabeth Ann Martin of Tulsa, OK and Mary Lee Wittner of Denver, CO.
