Obituary for William Otis Burnett
Former Eldorado resident, William Otis Burnett, age 93, of Wichita Falls, Texas, was born October 23rd, 1902, in Rising Star, Texas, the son of the late John Lemueal and Lilla Lee (Cawley) Burnett. He was a longtime Eldorado resident, moving to Wichita Falls 18 months ago. Mr. Burnett passed away Friday, July 5th, 1996, in the Texoma Christian Care Center, Wichita Falls, Texas, after a lengthy illness.
Funeral Services will be at 10:00 a.m. Monday, July 8, 1996, in the First Baptist Church of Eldorado with Rev. Ken Coleman officiating. Burial will follow in the Eldorado Cemetery under the direction of Lowell Tims Funeral Home, Altus, Oklahoma.
His body will lie in state at the Eldorado Chapel until the time of service. On December 6, 1924, he and Eunice Mildred Jackson were united in marriage in Quanah, Texas. At the time of his death they had been married 71 years. Mr. Burnett was a Retired Road Maintenance County Employee; he farmed in the Eldorado area for over 33 years. He loved children, his grandchildren and great-grandchildren were very special to him. He was a member of the Eldorado First Baptist Church.
Survivors include: his spouse, Eunice Mildred Burnett of Wichita Falls, Texas; one son, Donald Burnett Wichita Falls, Texas and his wife Sandy of Wichita Falls, Texas; one sister, Holly Burnett of Ft. Worth, Texas; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by: his parents; eight brothers and sisters; one daughter, Bobbie Charlene Gribble; one granddaughter, Dorothy Lynn Gribble.
