Obituary for William Stanford Garner
William Stanford Garner age 91, passed away Saturday, July 9, 2005 at Integris Medical Center in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
Stanford was born October 18, 1913 in Byars, Oklahoma to Frank and Meddie Garner and was along time resident of Bars. He graduated from High School in Byars before attending Oklahoma University.
On July, 1941, he and Mildred Garner were united in marriage at Pauls Valley, Oklahoma. Together they moved to Altus in 1950 to buy the John Deere Company with his brother Rex. In 1955 he became the sole owner of the John Deere Store and operated it until 1975. He was a member of the United Methodist Church in Altus.
Stanford was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Mildred, his son, William Kenneth Garner; two brothers, Rex and Frank; three sisters, Arline Robinson, Marcelle Burk and Janice Sheppard.

He is survived by two grandsons, William Scott Garner and Garrett Gannon Garner and a host of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for William Sanford Garner Garner will be held Wednesday, July 13, 2005 at 3:00pm at Lowell-Tims Chapel with Rev. Eugene Foreman officiating. Interment will follow at the Altus City Cemetery.
The family will greet guest Tuesday, July 12, 2005 from 6:30 until 8:00pm at Lowell-Tims Funeral Home.
