MEANS
Willie Dee Means, age 92, of Mangum, passed away late Thursday evening, December 15, 2011, at Grace Living Center, in Mangum.
Mrs. Means was born on March 14, 1919, in Clay County, Tennessee to Walter Hatton and Lou (Huffer) Stover. In 1927, the family moved to Greer County, in the Granite area. Shortly thereafter, they moved to the Jester area where she lived until meeting William Porter Means. On September 6, 1952, she married Porter and they moved to the Ladessa Community where they farmed for many years. After Porter"s heath began to decline, they moved to Mangum where she lived until her death. A longtime member of the Church of Christ, Willie enjoyed farming with Porter and taking care of her garden.
Preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Porter, on June 8, 1984; two brothers, Fred Stover and Ira Stover; two sisters, Myrtie Brown and Arlene Conner; one nephew, Fred Stover, Jr. and one niece, Diane Conner, she is survived by one brother, W.B. (Bill) Stover of Mangum; two nices, Loreta Stewart and husband Marvin of Sayre and Fay Smith and husband Claude of Vancouver, Washington, several cousins and many friends.
Funeral services for Willie Dee Means will be at 10:30 a.m., Monday, December 12, 2011, at Greer Funeral Home Chapel with Ken Hamilton officiating. Interment will follow at Granite City Cemetery under the direction of Greer Funeral Home of Mangum.
