Willodene Freville, age 89, of Altus, formerly of Gould, Oklahoma, passed away Tuesday morning, August 15, 2017, at the English Village Manor, in Altus.
Willodene was born in McQueen, Oklahoma on September 19, 1927, to James Elmer and Ruth (Foreman) Perdue. Beginning school at McQueen, Mrs. Freville graduated from Gould High School. A gifted musician, she had eight years of piano, five years of band, where she played the clarinet, and was the organist and pianist at her church. Willodene taught school for a time and was the choir instructor while she was teaching grade school. Very active in her children"s lives, she was a Boy Scout and 4H leader. Living for a time in Iowa Park, Texas and in Georgia, she married Leo Vincent Freville on July 22, 1977 and they retired to Gould to care for her parents. Willodene made a profession of faith in Jesus at twelve years old and was later active in college Baptist Youth Group in Portales, New Mexico where she was baptized.
Preceded in death by her parents and husband, Leo on October 24, 2011, she is survived by one son, Marlon Burns and wife Vickie of Mt. Park, Oklahoma; one daughter, Cindy Burns of Lehigh Acres, Florida; one granddaughter, Michelle Arizola and great grandson of Florida along with many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services for Willodene Freville will be at 1 p.m., Saturday, August 19, 2017, at Corinth Baptist Church.
Interment will follow at Liberty Cemetery under the direction of Harmon County Funeral Home, of Hollis.
