Wilma Shearl Hyche, age 58, of Altus, passed away Saturday, May 16, 2015, at Jackson County Memorial Hospital, in Altus.
Mrs. Hyche was born in Altus, Oklahoma on September 27, 1956, to Wilbert Dooley and Novella Richards. Shortly after graduating with the 1974 class of Altus High School, she met and married Elbert Hyche and they made their home in Altus. Wilma began working for Kellwood and later Altus Athletics as a seamstress. After their closing, Wilma worked at Fred"s Steak House until declining health forced her retirement. Wilma loved cooking, dancing, sewing and spending time with her family.
Preceded in death by her father, Wilma is survived by her mother, Novella Richards, of Altus; three children, Brien Hyche of Altus, Bobby Joe Hurd, Jr. of Altus and Lora Hurd of Lawton; two sisters, Mearl Jones and husband James of Altus, Theola Brown of Altus; four brothers, Raymond Hodge of Altus, Billy Williams of Washington D.C., Andre Gilford of Altus and Theover Gilford and wife Beverly of Dallas; five grandchildren, Leticia Castro, Sevyn Hyche, Ahbeni Hyche, Bobby Joe Hurd III, and Chad Montgomery, Jr., along with many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services for Wilma Hyche will be at 2 p.m., Saturday, May 23, 2015, at Lowell-Tims Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Robert Jackson officiating. Interment will follow at the Altus City Cemetery under the direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home.
