Obituary for Mary Lou Blassingame
On June 11, Mary Blassingame passed away in Yukon Oklahoma while holding hands with her daughters and being prayed for by lifelong friend, the Reverend Susanne Mollison of St. Paul's Episcopal Church where Mary was a long-time member.

After 89 times around the sun, her body just would not go on any longer and she needed to have a cup of coffee with her husband and have her little dog, Baby, on her lap again. Mary came from very humble beginnings in 1930, and at the age of 17 she married her sweetheart Johnny. They embarked on a life together that would include multiple states, multiple homes, and three children. One of Mary's closest kept secrets was her lack of education, she worked as a bookkeeper and accountant all of her adult life, and she was so intelligent, well read, and good with numbers, the fact that she never had the opportunity to complete middle school just never came up in interviews. The depth of intelligence, thorough knowledge of history, geography, and the ability to calculate numbers without writing them down was such a source of pride for her family because they all knew that she attained all of that knowledge on her own. Now her secret is out for everyone to know. Mary left this world in a frail and delicate state, but she lived fiercely and with pride and dedication to the family that she left behind.

Those who are left to miss her every day are (get ready, this is a long list) three children: Walter, Debbie, and Kim; eight grandchildren: John, Nicole, Ken, Rebecca, John-Kendall, Dustin, Spencer, and Aiden; thirteen great-grandchildren: Arin, Lacie, Kamren, Tobyn, Braden, Brandon, Brook, Leah, Jaina, Oliver, Hunter, Harper, and Sora; and one great-great-grandson: Sage. She loved everyone on this exhaustive list, and she has left a void that cannot be filled. Who will fill all of these children with candy and soda now that she is gone?
