Obituary for Delorese L. Land
Surrounded by family, at peace having finished her race, Delorese Lee Land passed away on Thursday, January 20, 2022.
Born on October 10, 1930 in Johnson City, Tennessee, Delorese lived a of life of love, family and service to her community.
After a meritorious life of public service, Delorese retired to live and care for her husband of 60 years, Bobby Land in Altus, OK.
From following Bobby across the world in his meritorious military service career, to watching her two sons grow to create their own families, Delorese's strength and determination guided the lives of everyone she loved. Her sense of style and love of a good sale meant they all looked good while pursuing those lives.
When it came to her sweetheart and husband of 60 years, Delorese dedicated the last 20 years of her life guiding and protecting him in his battle with Alzheimer's. She passionately cared for him and advocated for all families dealing with this debilitating disease. It was not until she laid him to his final rest that she even considered taking hers.
Delorese is survived by her three grandchildren, Marielle Land Howard, Christopher Land and Tyler Land three great grandchildren, Kaitlyn Land, Jordan Land and Hunter Howard. In addition to the family that God gave her in blood, Delorese and Bobby adopted many others into their family circle of love and would have wanted to celebrate those connections as well.
Delorese is preceded in death by her beloved Bobby Gerald Land and their two precious sons, Philip Kent Land and Bobby Gregory Land.
A graveside service celebrating Delorese's life, love and service will take place at the Altus Cemetery Chapel at 2400 Falcon Road, Altus OK, 73521 at 2:00pm Saturday, January 22, 2022 with Pastor Doug Altom officiating.

Directions to the Graveside: Burgandy Tent located due East of the Cemetery Chapel in the South East Section of the Cemetery.
