Obituary for Kelly Frank Shaffer
Kelly Frank Shaffer, 73, life long resident of Jackson County passed away on March 16, 2022 at his home in Elmer, OK. Kelly was born in Altus, OK on May 12, 1948 to Frank and Helen Shaffer. Kelly graduated from Southside High School in 1966. From there, he attended Altus Junior College and then furthered his education at Oklahoma State University where he earned his Bachelor's Degree in 1971. After college, he returned to Elmer to pursue a career in farming, ranching, and trucking. During this time he also operated a backhoe business. Kelly retired in 2017.
On August 5,1972, Kelly married Brenda Kay Partain from Elk City, OK. Together, they had one daughter Sandy Jean. Kelly was proud to raise his family on the family farm which was homesteaded by his grandparents. Kelly attended the Elmer Methodist Church and was baptized in 2008. He has served as a board member for Santa Rosa Communications since 1988. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family and telling stories. Kelly loved dogs, Ernest Tubb, and trucks. Kelly and Brenda would have celebrated their Golden Wedding Anniversary in August.
Kelly was preceded in death by his parents Frank and Helen Shaffer, grandparents William Ross and Mary Frank Fitzgerald and Alfred Leroy and Marcia Lenora Shaffer.
Kelly is survived by his wife Brenda Shaffer of the home in Elmer, OK; his daughter Sandy Jean Lawson and husband Dusty of Elmer; his grandsons Nevin Wayne Lawson and Caitlyn Cox and Nolan Ross Lawson of Elmer, OK; Sister-in-Law Susie Boyd and Alan of Tipton, OK; Brother-in-Law Roland Partain and Ruby of Camden, AR; Brother-in-Law Rick Kincaid and Carolyn Burrows of Elk City, OK; along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.
The Shaffer family will receive friends from 6:00pm to 8:00pm Friday, March 18, 2022 at
Lowell- Tims Funeral Home, Altus, OK.
Funeral Services will be at 10:00am Saturday, March 19, 2022 at Lowell-Timss Funeral Home Chapel, with burial to follow at Hess Cemetery.
