Obituary for Lillian Oneta Riley
Lillian Oneta Riley, Tipton resident, was called home to be with Our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on July 8, 2022 at the Las Brisas Rehabilitation Center in Irving, Texas. She was 94 years old at the time of her transition. Services have been entrusted to the care of the Lowell-Tims Funeral Home & Crematory.
Lillian was born in Dallas, Texas on May 10, 1928. She was the youngest of four children born to Willie Lester Parker and Fannie Hunt. Her mother passed away when she was 5 years old and Lillian was raised by her aunt. She grew up in and went to school in Dallas. In 1945, Lillian married Andrew Elix in Tipton, Oklahoma and they remained faithfully together until Andrew passed in 1973.
Lillian was an incredible woman who gave all she could to those around her. She worked as a CNA and took care of the elderly. She was extremely passionate about the care of her patients and made it her personal goal to ensure they felt loved and wanted. She did her best to instill these same values in her own children and always encouraged them to live by the golden rule. Lillian also worked at the post office during her career.
She leaves behind a legacy of kindness, sincerity and true concern for others. She will be forever remembered by all who knew her and by the countless lives she touched.
Welcoming Lillian into heaven's gates are: Her husband, Andrew Elix; her Mother, Fannie Hunt; her son, Henry Earl Elix; her daughter, Brenda Flora Elix Copeland; one brother; two sisters: Anna Marie Washington and Flora Lee Johnson; her grandchildren: Earl Elix Jr, Christina Elix, Irvin Levine, Michael Elix and Craig Copeland; and her great-grandson: MIchael Carter.
Left to honor her memory are three sons, Bennie Ray Elix of Altus, Oklahoma, Eddie Glen Elix and wife Dawna of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, John Wayne King of Ponca City, Oklahoma, five daughters, Mary Gittens of Synder, Oklahoma, Lois Gildon of Altus, Oklahoma, Jean King of Irving, Texas, Shirley Levine and husband Berlin of Corning, California, Lillian "Cookie" Scruggs and husband Steve of Sacramento, California, twenty - two grandchildren, forty - five great - grandchildren, and thirteen great-great grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, and other extend family members.
The Riley family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. Sunday, July 17, 2022 at Lowell - Tims Funeral Home, Altus, Oklahoma.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Monday, July 18, 2022 at Lowell - Tims Funeral Home Chapel, Altus, Oklahoma.
