Obituary for Bill D. Risinger
Bill Risinger was born in Hess, Ok on February 7, 1935, to Homer (Soupy) and Lizzie Risinger. Bill lived in Hess all his life except for two years in the Army and three years in Oklahoma City.
Bill was drafted into the Army where he was an APC driver in Germany.
He married Sally Ann Cooper February 6, 1964, in Olustee, OK. To this union two children were born, Rick and Wendy.
After a noted career as a professional dog trainer, traveling border to border on the field trial circuit, he returned to Hess to begin farming and raising cattle. His excellence with dogs was evident in his training of his border collies.
Bill was a member of Hess Baptist Church and The Western Trail Historical Society.
He was proceeded in death by his parents, his sister Earlene (Beans) and brothers, Dale Risinger and Carl (Frog) Risinger.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Sally, his brother Gary, his son Rick Risinger and wife Missi, daughter, Wendy Sager and her husband Shawn, three grandchildren, Kaylyn Dinser and her husband Kyle, Kallie Sager and Cody Risinger, Four great-grandchildren Beckett, Mila, Quincy and Sutton. A brother-in-law, Curt Cooper and sister-in-law, Shirley Risinger, Clara Trusty, Nelda Farrar, Pam Durant, and Peggy Cooper also survive.
Family visitation will be Tuesday evening at Lowell-Tims Funeral Home from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
Graveside rites will be at the Hess Cemetery, at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, November 23, 2022, conducted by Chris Milner.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Hess Baptist church Building Fund, 20692 E CR 176, Elmer, Oklahoma 73539.
