Gloria De La Rosa Ramos, a longtime resident of Altus, departed this earthly life on March 24, 2023, at Jackson County Memorial Hospital at the age of 74.
Gloria was born August 8, 1948, to Sebastian and Consuelo DeLa Rosa in Fort Stockton, California. Her family traveled for work, and they eventually settled in Altus, Oklahoma around 1964. In 1976, she met Jesus Ramos of Fort Worth, Texas and were married the following year. They had two children, Angela and Tony, along with step-daughter, Irene Reyna. Gloria absolutely loved her family and shared that love with everyone around her, especially when she was a Home Healthcare Worker. She was a blessing to all who knew her.
Gloria was a dedicated mother first and foremost and embraced every moment with her children. She particularly loved her role as grandma to Nicholas and Natalie Orozco. She had a lively personality and always made people around her laugh. Gloria was a faithful Catholic, particularly inspired by St Jude, and was an a active member of the Prince of Peace Catholic Church. She was an inspiration to many for her work ethic, determination, love, and faith. Despite the challenges in her life, she knew that God would guide and bless her growing family. She loved welcoming people into her home and especially loved when siblings would visit and talk over a meal. She had the biggest heart and was always ready and willing to help anyone in need.
Gloria is preceded in death by her husband Jesus Ramos; her parents, Sebastian and Consuelo DeLa Rosa; brother, Juan De La Rosa; sister, Carmen and brother-in-law Lupe Rodriguez.
Left to honor her eternal memory are daughter Angela Orozco and son-in-law Rodolfo, and son Anthony Ramos; stepdaughter Irene Reyna; and grandchildren Nicholas and Natalie Orozco. Additionally, her brothers Sebastian and sister-in-law Christina De La Rosa Jr., Fermin De La Rosa, and Jose De La Rosa; sister Simona and brother-in-law Jesse Molina; sister Mary and brother-in-law David Siefker; sister Alice Trevino and brother-in-law Domingo (dec.); sister Margarita and brother-in-law Larry Dwyer; sister Frances and brother-in-law Oscar SanLuis; sister Rosa and brother-in-law Paul Caserta; sister-in-law Irene De La Rosa, as well as many other loved family members and friends will miss Gloria dearly.
Memorial services for Gloria will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, April 8, 2023, Lowell - Tims Funeral Home Chapel, Altus, Oklahoma.
