He served his country for another twenty-five years working with the Department of Defense Finance and Accounting Service. During this time he traveled to many offices but his favorite was the office in Denver, Co. where developed a special bond with that branch. This working relationship turned into a great friendship that would last a lifetime. Edward had a unique ability to make friends where ever he worked and traveled. He loved to take road trips across the country to see his countless friends.

On a personal level, Edward was a free spirit who believed in giving of himself to help others over being confined to the constraints of organized religion. He was a man of charity and gave generously to causes dear to his heart. Edward was also active socially. He was a lifetime member of a VFW, REA, DAV, AFSA, NAUS, and NRA., and part of a league bowling team. He was also a member of the alumni association at WOSC and Cameron University.

Edward loved to shop for new electronics and was like a kid in a candy store at Radio Shack. When he saw something he was really amazed by he would buy two one for himself and one to open and learn how it worked.

Outside of his charitable works and social life, Edward enjoyed reading, bowling, fishing, and going to the casino. He loved traveling to Mesquite, Nevada. He loved collecting hats and had hundreds from all over the globe and Chinese cooking, a passion he shared and cultivated with his father.
