Obituary for Delilia Holden
Delilia May Holden, age 88, passed away November 29, 2017 at Jackson County Memorial Hospital. Graveside services will be at the Altus Cemetery Tuesday, December 5, 2017 at 2:00pm under the direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home. Visitation will be Monday, December 4, 2017 from 6:00 to 8:00pm at Lowell-Tims Funeral Home.
She was born June 22, 1929 in New Berlin, New York to Byron and Cartha Harrington May. She lived in Holmesville, New York on a dairy Farm and attended school in South New Berlin, New York. Here she met her beloved husband Ralph Holden, they were married on August 16, 1947. They made their home in New Berlin Ny. In December 1951 they became an Air Force family and she traveled with her husband through out his 30 year career arriving in Altus, Oklahoma in August 1969. Upon Ralph's retirement in December 31, 1981 they made Altus their permanent home. She was of the Methodist faith and enjoyed making friends, her greatest joy was taking care of her family being a wife, mother and grandmother.
As a hobby Delilia was a talented Artist painting in both acrilics and oils.
She also enjoyed doing pencil and ink drawings of old buildings.
She is preceded in death by her parents and sister Beverly Cawly. She is survived by her husband Ralph of the home two sons, Randy B. and wife Kathy of Lawrenceville, Georgia and grandson Jeremy and wife Jeniffer Holden, great granddaughter's Breanna and Sofia of Lawrenceville, Georiga, son, Steven R Holden and wife Denice of Crestview, Florida grandson Joshua Holden , Tacoma ,Washington and granddaughter Angie and husband Austin Vaughn of Albuquerque, New Mexico, granddaughter Christina and husband Calab Adams of Pensicola, Florida, brother Philip and wife Jean May, Norwich, New York, numerous cousins and friends.
In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to the Alzhimer's Association or Macular
Degeneration Association.
