Robert Eugene Hunter, 46, a resident of Lawton, Oklahoma and former resident of Mangum, Oklahoma, passed away on May 9, 2023, at Comanche County Memorial Hospital.
Robert was born in Mangum, Oklahoma on September 8th, 1976, to Joe Simon and Barbara Hunter. There he was raised with his grandmother, Mae Lois Haley Brooks. Robert attended elementary and middle school in Mangum before moving to Lawton, Oklahoma where he finished his education. He had a great love of sports in his younger years he enjoyed playing basketball and football. Recently he enjoyed watching sports, his favorite teams were the Chicago Bulls and Dallas Cowboys. Robert was a character, and although his exterior was tough, he was a teddy bear, who loved his family and friends with a passion that few could understand. He worked in several industries throughout his life but he loved lawn care. Robert enjoyed tending to untamed lawns and making them look like a golf course. He leaves a legacy of love and devotion to his family and friends.
Left to honor Robert's memory and legacy are his daughter, Dominque Thompson; sisters, Stephanie Hunter, Ebony Hunter, Leslie Elliott and husband Cory, Jessica Perry, Jasmine Hunter, Tiffany Nelson; Brothers, Terrone Nelson, Michael Hunter, Anthony Nelson, Timothy Lane, special aunts, Amy Robinson, Jan Johnson, numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Robert was preceded in death by his grandmother, Mae Lois Haley Brooks, Mother, Barbara Hunter, grandfather, George Jack Brooks.
