Leonard Rozell Smith, resident of Altus, Oklahoma passed away August 30, 2023 at St. Anthony Hospital in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma at the age of 63.
Leonard was born on January 3rd, 1960 to Leonard James Smith Sr. and Patricia (Smith) Miller in Altus, Oklahoma. He graduated from Lawton High School in 1978 and went on to earn some college credit. He went on to find his true passion, baking. Leonard loved to cook and make different treats and sweets. He shared this passion with those around him.
Leonard married Cheryl (Simmons) Smith on March 8th, 2009 at the Spirit of the Lord Church in Altus, Oklahoma. In their 14 years together they shared many happy memories. He shared his love of baking with her, often spending time with her making treats.
Leonard is preceded in death by his first wife Debbie Ann Smith; father Leonard James Smith Sr.; grandmother Donnie Mae Green; and brother Ray Wurtenberg.
Left to honor his memory include his wife Cheryl Smith; mother Patricia (Smith) Miller; son Joshua Smith; daughters Deitra Hill, Sharee Sutton-Brown, and stepdaughter June Burton; brothers Christopher Miller, Leonard James Smith Jr., and Richard Smith; sisters Mechelle Smith, Donnie Smith, and Kay Wurtenburg; three step-grandchildren; a host of step-greatgrandchildren; as well as other nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, September 5, 2023 at Lowell Tims Funeral Home Chapel, Altus, Oklahoma with burial to follow at Roselawn Cemetery, Mangum, Oklahoma.
