Services for William Sherwood Carter, age 64, of Altus are scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, May 27, 1992 at the Lowell Tims Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at the Blair Cemetery under the direction of Lowell Tims Funeral Home. Bill Osborne will officiate.
Mr. Carter died May 24, 1992 at his home in Altus, Oklahoma. He was born August 21st, 1927 in Blair, Oklahoma to Henry and Clara Carter. He was retired from PSO where he had worked as a lineman. Mr. Carter was a lifelong resident of Jackson County and a member of the Elm & Hudson Church of Christ. Mr. Carter was a veteran, an avid fisherman and a 32nd Degree Mason.
Survivors include: his Mother, Clara Inzer of Blair, Oklahoma; three children, Ricky Carter of Altus, OK, Steve Carter of San Antonio, TX and Paula Carter of Lancaster, CA; two brothers, Kenneth Carter of Lawton, OK and Buddy Carter of Ft. Worth, TX; three step-brothers, Leon Inzer of Los Angeles, CA, C. W. Inzer of Dallas, TX; Garland Inzer; one step-sister, Madeline Herring of Altus, OK; two grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by: his father; stepfather, Eugene Inzer; one sister, Bernice Roach; step-brother, Oren Inzer and step-sister, Esteen Roberts.
