John Phil Raines age 29, of Altus, Oklahoma died March 2, 1964 near Cordell, Oklahoma. He was born December 6, 1934 in Altus, Oklahoma to Findley and Lahoma (Baucum) Raines. He graduated from Altus in 1952. He was an insurance Underwriter for New Your Life Insurance. He was affiliated with First Baptist Church of Altus. John married Monetta Burch.

Funeral services for John Phil Raines are scheduled for March 4, 1964 at 3:00pm in the First Baptist Church officiated by Rev. Gene Garrison. Burial will follow in the Restlawn Cemetery under the direction of Tims Funeral Home.

John Phil Raines is survived by his wife Monetta of the home in Altus; one daughter of the home in Altus; parents Mr and Mrs. Findley Raines, Altus, Oklahoma; two brothers, Ted Raines, McLean, Texas; Lynn Raines, student at S.W.; grandparents, Mr and Mrs. Jess R. Raines, Altus, Oklahoma; Mr and Mrs. Jim Baucum, Altus, Oklahoma.
