Obituary for William Hugo Hartley
Mr. W. Hugo Hartley, age 69, of Eldorado, died Sunday morning of an apparent heart attack.
Funeral services have been set for 10:00 A.M., Wednesday morning at the Eldorado Cemetery under direction of Lowell Funeral Home. He will lie in state at Lowell-Richardson Funeral Chapel in Eldorado.
Born September 20th, 1907 in Anthony, Kansas, he was the son of the late William J. and Alta Hartley, they moving to Altus in 1913. He moved to Eldorado in 1941 when he purchased and managed the Ritz Theater here. He was married in 1942 to K. Ruth Holt at Ft. Sill. In 1945 and after being released from the Armed Forces, they returned to Eldorado where he was engaged in farming and custom combining. He retired from government service in 1967 after nineteen years service with the Civil Engineering Section at Altus Air Force Base. After retirement he continued his farming activities and operated Hugo Manufacturing Company in Eldorado. He was a Veteran of World War II, 32nd Degree Mason, Past Commander of Eldorado American Legion Post and a member of the Eldorado First Baptist Church.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, Ruth of the home, include: one daughter, Kay (Mrs. William Dayla Lynch) of Norman; one sister, Anna (Mrs. Melville Rahm) of Bartlesville, OK; a step-sister, Kathleen (Mrs. Wendell Ensor) of Bakersfield, CA; three grandchildren, Cassie, Moria and Austin Lynch of Norman; one brother, Mr. Roy Hartley of Purcell, OK.
