Anna Mae Peacock was born January 7, 1918 at Altus, Oklahoma. She was the daughter of the late Albert B. and Edna C. Smith. She died June 1, 1995 at the Jackson County Memorial Hospital following a long illness. She married Arlie Peacock January 9, 1964 at Hobart, Oklahoma. Anna was a life long resident of Altus and Jackson County. Anna graduated from Altus High School in 1936. She attended Altus Junior College and the University of Oklahoma and graduated in 1941 with a BS in Education. She was a long time member of the First Baptist Church of Altus. She worked for DHS for 30 years before retiring. She was a member of the Business and Professional Womens Association.
Services are scheduled for 10 am Saturday at the 1st Baptist Church with Rev. Melvim Moody offficiating. Interment will be in the Altus Cemetery under the direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home.
The family of Anna Mae Peacock will greet friends at the Lowell-Tims Funeral Home Friday from 7-8 pm
Survivors include spouse Arlie Peacock, children Charles Jeffries and wife Ramona of Altus, Oklahoma; sister, Ila Martin of Moore, Oklahoma; granddaughter Jennifer Jeffries of Altus, Oklahoma; two nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by parents, one brother, Frank Smith.
