Obituary for Glinda Allen
Glinda Copeland Allen passed away Sunday, October 28th, 2012 at her home in Altus. She was born October 2, 1957 in Clinton, Oklahoma to Roy and Mary (Lidy) Copeland. She attended school in Tipton.
On August 14, 1980, Glinda and Henry Allen Jr. were united in marriage. Glinda was a member of the New Hope Baptist Church where she was a Deaconess. She was on the usher board and sang in the choir. Glinda enjoyed puzzles, coloring, and garage sales. She loved to go to the Goodwill but most of all, she loved spending time with her grandchildren. She was a stay at home mother and a wonderful woman of God. She loved everyone and had a great smile for everyone.
Glinda was preceded in death by her parents and one son, Henry Allen Jr. III.
She is survived by her husband, Henry Allen of the home; two daughters, Demetrice Copeland, and Francya Jones (Robert) of Altus; four sons, Carl Copeland, Allen Copeland (Darlina), Reggie Copeland (Haley), and James Allen; two sisters, Rebecca Miller and Schakemia King (Micheal); brother, Earl Copeland; two sisters-in-law, Yetta Allen of Stockton, California and Raelea Allen of Forest Mississippi; as well as 38 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, God children, Dawayne Pollard, Esebrias King, Cody Cusher and a host of other relatives and friends.
Services have been scheduled for 2:00 pm Saturday, November 3, 2012 at Lowell-Tims Chapel with Rev. Reggie Hamilton officiating. Interment will follow in the Altus City Cemetery under the direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home.
