Farrell Jasper Myers, longtime resident of Hollis, Oklahoma passed away October 2, 2023, at his home surrounded by his family.
On June 26, 1946, in Jumbo, Oklahoma Clifford and Pauline Myers celebrated the birth of their son Farrell Jasper Myers. Farrell was raised and educated in the Ron area. On January 16, 1965, Farrell took an oath to the defend the United States, and proudly served his country in the United States Army and the Oklahoma National Guard. While serving as an Armor Crewman he fell off a tank at Fort Sill ending his military career. Following his military service, Farrell returned home to Hollis, Oklahoma where he worked several jobs. He worked as a truck driver for the cotton gin, and also worked for McLaughlin helping to maintain rental homes in the Hollis area. Farrell was a hardworking man who loved his family with a passion. He was a member of the Calvary Community Church in Hollis. On October 14, 2018, in Hollis, Oklahoma Farrell married his beloved wife, Merlene Bell. With this marriage Farrell was blessed with a large family and treated each of Merlene's children with love and kindness. He loved Merlene treated her as his queen till the day he passed away. Farrell enjoyed fishing, being outdoors, and being around his family.
Farrell was preceded in death by his father, Clifford Myers, mother, Pauline Myers, brothers, Gene, Gerald, Darrell, Murrell, Harold, sisters, Mary Jo Reeves, Sweetie Myers, and Edna Myers.
The Myers / Bell family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. Sunday, October 8, 2023. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Monday, October 9, 2023, at Harmon County Funeral Home, Hollis, Oklahoma. Interment will follow at McKnight Cemetery, where Farrell will be honored with military honors.
Left to honor Farrell memory are his wife, Merlene Bell Myers; daughter, Sherry Musser; stepchildren, Sharon Johnson, Lillie Bell, Marcus Bell, Jason Bell; Brothers, Donnie Myers, David Myers, a sister, Pattie Myers; eleven grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews and other extended family members.
