Obituary for Sarah Jane Buxton
Sarah Jane Buxton of Altus, formerly of Icklesham, East Suxxex,
England left her earthly bonds on March 12, 2018 at Mercy Hospital in
Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Sarah was born in London, England on
November 11, 1969 to Roy and Mary Massen. She grew up in
Basingstoke and Black Dam, England. In England Sarah was an
Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner (ARNP) specializing in Elder
Care.
In 2004, Sarah came to the United States, met Justin, and they
were married on January 20, 2005 in Altus, and a brief journey was
set in motion. Different cultures and backgrounds that merged into
one; with enduring love, courage, and determination to face the
many challenges and obstacles that fate would put before them on
their voyage.
They lived in Hollis when Sarah first arrived in the U.S. and later
lived in Duke, Marietta and Altus, Oklahoma. Sarah and Justin spent
a year living in Houston, Texas while Justin battled Stage 4 throat
cancer at MD Anderson. Sarah was ever by his side in this consuming
war and they won, but not without the scars of the struggle.
In 2008, Sarah developed an undiagnosed blood illness. Many
specialist’s in multiple fields of medicine were never able determine
exactly what disease or ailment Sarah had. She exhibited incessant
courage and endured hundreds of scans and tests, with no definitive
results. The doctors could only treat her symptoms. This savage
malady took Sarah from us and cut short a life still eager to pursue
her quest beside Justin.
This physical and emotional challenge didn’t restrain her spirit.
Sarah loved all types of music, her fur-babies, and her family. She
was always ready for an adventure to discover more about her new
life in Oklahoma and Texas. Sarah’s husband, her children, her
family, her animals and music were her life and passion. She touched
the lives of everyone who knew her, either in person or her globalFacebook family. She was a special lady who was loved by all.
Sarah’s unique sense of humor was always good for a laugh and a
smile, combining her British roots and forever-American-home kind
of perspective.
Sarah leaves behind to treasure her memory; her husband,
Justin Buxton of Altus; two daughters, Robyn-Marie Buxton and
fiancée, Ryan Weeman of Altus, Mollie Thompson of Icklesham,
England; one son, Archie Thompson of Icklesham, England; her
parents, Roy and Mary Massen of England; her brother, Ralph
Massen of England; her mother-in-law, D’Ann Williams of Altus; her
father and mother-in-law, Mike and Donna Buxton of Marietta; her
grandmother-in-law, Barbara Dollins of Altus and many friends and
extended family throughout the world.
Sarah was preceded in death by grandfather-in-law, O.W.
Dollins with whom she had a very extraordinary relationship.
Because of Sarah’s amazing love of animals, we ask if you
choose to send a memorial, please donate to a local animal rescue in
Sarah’s honor.
She will be missed by all of God’s earthly creations.
Per Sarah’s request, Sarah was cremated and there will be no
memorial service.
