Obituary for Wanda L. Crockett
Wanda Crockett 84, of Lawton Oklahoma passed away December 25, 2023. Wanda was born on December 1, 1939, in Idabel, Oklahoma to Posey M & Fannie F Cox. She was the third of five children, Barbara, Larry, Marion and Calvin. Posey & Fannie made Hollis, Oklahoma their home and continued to grow their family. Wanda went to school in Arnett, Oklahoma and later in life decided to go back to school. She attended OU and got her bachelor's degree in nursing.
Wanda was married to Heshel Cunningham for 12 years and together they had four children, Sue, Tammy, Larry(shotgun) and Bradly.
Wanda on May 15, 1970, married Terry Crockett. They made Hollis their home and continued to raise the four children together. Wanda and Terry spent a few years living in Las Vegas before they resettled in Lawton, Oklahoma. Wanda worked almost 20 years as an RN at Southwestern Behavioral Health Center until her husband passed away in 2016.
Wanda is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Terry, her sister Barbara, her sister-in-law Edna Cox, and her son Bradley.
Wanda is survived by her three brothers: Larry and his wife Carolyn, Marion, Calvin and his wife Ramona, her brother-in-law Lynn Crockett and his wife Ann.
Her children: Sue and her husband Kenneth, Tammy and her husband Joel, Larry (shotgun) and his wife Julie, and her daughter-in-law Kandi Cunningham. Her grandchildren: Shelly and her husband Daniel, Kenny Green, TJ Strickland, Scott Strickland, Jenna and her husband Denney, Reese and his wife Landee, Aaron Cunningham, Braden and his wife Raegan, Connor and his wife Kelci, Kanyon and his wife Kristina, along with many nieces, nephews and other extended family members. Also, Wanda was blessed with 20 great grandchildren and 7 great great grandchildren.
Wanda loved to spend time cooking and visiting with family. There was always something cooking in her house! She loved reading, playing bingo, and loved to go to the casino to play the slots! She also loved some Elvis music, with her favorite song of his being "I did it my way" exactly how she lived her life!
