Beverly Jean (Walker) Galmon, longtime resident of Altus, Oklahoma, left her earthly home to join the arms of the Lord on January 5th, 2024, while at Legacy Village in Castle Pines, Colorado at the age of eighty-two.
On June 26th, 1941, Earl and Nadine Walker rejoiced at the birth of their beautiful baby girl. Beverly was born in Altus, Oklahoma where she graduated from high school in the class of 1959. Afterward, she went on to gain some college credits at a computer school in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. She left college later that year when she married the love of her life and other half Charles Ross Galmon Jr. They joined in union on December 18, 1959, in Altus, Oklahoma. Together, they shared over six decades of their lives together. Beverly was a loving and faithful wife who remained by Charles's side until his passing on June 30, 2022. Their loving union was blessed with two amazing children: a son, Mark, and a daughter, Crystal Rene (Galmon) Ragsdale. Beverly was a proud wife and mother, she followed Charles wherever his work took him including Fort Worth, Texas, Grandbury, Texas, Moultrie, Georgia, Cookenville, Tennessee, before finally retiring to spend their last few years together in Castle Pines, Colorado. Beverly worked for twenty years for Sears and Roebuck as well as holding a long career as a realtor. Due to her people skills and smile, she was able to find work no matter where they ended up. She was a passionate woman who took great pride in what she did.
Beverly had a very energetic personality and never met a stranger. She was a member of several small Bible study groups as well as a member of the Moultrie Newcomers Club, the Denim and Diamonds Line Dancing Group back in the late 80s to the early 90s, and kept busy with other community activities. Beverly was always the first to volunteer when help was needed. She was a loving neighbor that those in her life appreciated greatly. Beverly was also a faithful woman, she studied different religions and texts. She wanted to understand the world and those in it. She loved music, dancing, cooking, flowers, sewing, decorating for all the different seasons and holidays. Most of all, she loved her family. Beverly loved spending time with her children and husband. Beverly's greatest joy in life was seeing her family happy and healthy. Her loved ones and her community will greatly miss her.
