Her father was an accountant for Western Electric, and her mother worked for Jewel Grocery Store

Sandie graduated in 1955 at Downers Grove, North High School in Illinois.
She went to Carthage College after high school for one year where she met August Missioni at a wedding during college and soon married him on December 21, 1957. Her husband was in the Army and Air Force so she became a military wife until her husband retired in 1975 from the Air Force. She traveled with her spouse and three daughters and lived across the United States, Okinawa, and Spain.

Sandie worked a civil service job at the commissary while her spouse was active duty in the Air Force. After her spouse was ready to retire, Sandie returned to college in the 1970's and earned her BA degree in Anthropology and pursued her archeology career until her health prevented her from working. She along with her spouse were involved in melodramas and plays and other community activities. She worked for the Forest Service for archeology to do surveys in California. Sandie and her spouse, Augie, traveled by motor home in the early 2000's and she was involved as an activities director for the RV resorts she lived at. Her and her spouse moved from Benson, AZ, to Altus, OK., in May of 2017 due to her failing health to be by their family.

Sandie is survived by her spouse of 60 years, August Missioni, in Altus, OK. Her sister, Gaye Martin, from Olympia Washington and her children, Bradley Martin and Tiffany Johnson. Three daughters: Debra Gallardo, and Donna Stuart and her spouse, James, from Altus, OK., Pamela Wittman and her spouse, Adrian, from Folsom, CA.
