Michael Dean Mayhugh, a former resident of Wellington, Texas, gracefully departed this life on April 12, 2024, in Fort Worth, Texas, at the age of sixty-two.
Born on July 5, 1961, to Tandy Matthew Mayhugh and Donna LaNelle Reid Mayhugh in Amarillo, Texas, Michael's journey was marked by a profound dedication to hard work and a deep love for his family. Raised and educated in Amarillo, Texas, Michael's formative years were enriched by cherished weekend hunting escapades with his father, uncles, and cousins.
Michael embarked on a career in farming and agriculture from an early age, laying the foundation for the remarkable work ethic that would define his lifetime.
Pioneering ventures such as the Donut Deal in Wellington, Texas, and later, A.M. Donuts in Childress, Texas, showcased Michael's entrepreneurial spirit. Subsequently, he established a carpet cleaning service, serving communities in Wichita Falls and Granbury, Texas. Michael dedicated his life to Jesus Christ and was very proud of his salvation.
In moments of leisure, Michael found solace in the company of his beloved horses and loyal canine companion. Yet, his greatest source of happiness stemmed from being surrounded by his children and grandchildren. His pride in his family was palpable, evident in his steadfast admiration for his three accomplished daughters, all nurses. Every milestone achieved by his grandchildren brought him immeasurable joy, affirming that his family was the cornerstone of his existence. Within a short amount of time being around Michael, one found out how incredibly proud of his family he was. Michael's legacy is one of hard work, devotion, and boundless love—a testament to a life well-lived and deeply cherished by all who were fortunate enough to know him.

Left to honor his legacy are his daughters, Kendra Brady and husband Stephen, Amber Mayhugh, Lisa Ruth, and husband Mike; Grandchildren, Michael Hargrave, Jodi Beck, Kevin Matthew Magouirk, Kadee Beck, Kason Magourik, and Ella Guzman
Also surviving Michael are his sisters, Kathy Raney and husband Gary, Donna Carlson, Patty Baumgardner; Brother, Roy Carlson and his wife Francis, his trusted companion, Gus; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
The Mayhugh family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. - 2:00 p.m. Friday, Friday, April 19, 2024, at Harmon County Funeral Home. Graveside services will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, April 19, 2024, at Fairmount Cemetery, Hollis, Oklahoma.
