Obituary for Charles "Chuck" Paris
Charles "Chuck" Paris passed away at his home 27 June 2018 after a short battle with cancer. He was born in Caldwell County in SW Kentucky 28 August 1930 to Leslie and Ruby (Harris) Paris.

Graduated from Butler High School, Princeton, Kentucky in 1950. He spent 20 years in the Air Force at several bases, Lackland, Omaha, Guam, Altus, Bitburg, Germany, Schilling KS, Bunker Hill Ind, Phu Cat Vietnam, Clinton Sherman, and Loring AB Me. He earned many medals including the Bronze Star in Vietnam. During his military career he was active with drill teams and honor guards for parades. While assigned to Bitburg in 1959-61 he served at dedication ceremonies of several American cemeteries in Holland and Europe. He retired from the military to Blair, Oklahoma and worked 20 years for the Jackson County Sheriff Dept as a deputy, undersheriff and a short time as the Sheriff in 1990. He was then hired by the Dept of Defense Investigative Service to complete background clearances for personnel. His headquarters was in the Murrah Federal Building Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. He retired three weeks before the bombing 19 April 1995. He lost three agents, the secretary and his boss. He then did contract work for the department due to shortage of personnel. Chuck loved to visit and be around people and was a volunteer in the OR at the Jackson County Hospital for ten years. He also served on the county equalization board for 13 years. He was a member of First Baptist Church. He was a 32nd degree Mason for over 50 years and also a Shriner where he belonged to the SWOKIES, riding a small motorcycle in parades. He was also a member of the clown group, making balloons for children. He enjoyed meeting with friends every morning at WhatABurger. Among his special qualities was his love of animals. He always had pets and was noted for teaching two of his dogs to play a toy piano
while he would sing along.

Chuck is survived by his wife Helen (Padgett) Paris and they have spent 60 years together. One son Gregory Charles Paris (Nena), Grandson Kip (Amanda) and great granddaughter (Piper) of Rowlett, Texas, grandson Trevor Harrigan, San Jose, California, son-in-law Tim Harrigan, Burkburnett, Texas step grandsons Cameron Sharman (Eunique) Galveston and Dallas Cline (Theresa) Royse City, Texas. He also has nieces and nephews in Kentucky, James Edward Paris, Rick and Ronnie Andrews, Linda Robinson and Wanda Pendergraff.

He was preceded in death by one daughter, Tamara Kim Harrigan and siblings in Kentucky, James Paris, Pauline Cortner and Madalyn Andrews, his parents Leslie and Ruby (Harris) Paris.

Mr. Paris' family will greet friends at the visitation from 3:00 P.M. to 5:00 P.M. Sunday July 1, 2018 at Lowell Tims Funeral Home, Altus, Oklahoma.

Funeral service will be 10:00 A.M. Monday July 2, 2018 at Lowell Tims Funeral Home with interment to follow at Altus City Cemetery, Altus, Oklahoma.
